SV

1Een lied, een psalm, voor de kinderen van Korach.
2De HEERE is groot en zeer te prijzen, in de stad onzes Gods, op den berg Zijner heiligheid.
3Schoon van gelegenheid, een vreugde der ganse aarde is de berg Sion, aan de zijden van het noorden; de stad des groten Konings.
4God is in haar paleizen; Hij is er bekend voor een Hoog Vertrek.
5Want ziet, de koningen waren vergaderd; zij waren te zamen doorgetogen.
6Gelijk zij het zagen, alzo waren zij verwonderd; zij werden verschrikt, zij haastten weg.
7Beving greep hen aldaar aan, smart als van een barende vrouw.
8Met een oostenwind verbreekt Gij de schepen van Tharsis.
9Gelijk wij gehoord hadden, alzo hebben wij gezien in de stad des HEEREN der heirscharen, in de stad onzes Gods; God zal haar bevestigen tot in eeuwigheid. Sela.
10O God! wij gedenken Uwer weldadigheid, in het midden Uws tempels.
11Gelijk Uw Naam is, o God! alzo is Uw roem tot aan de einden der aarde; Uw rechterhand is vol van gerechtigheid.
12Laat de berg Sion blijde zijn; laat de dochteren van Juda zich verheugen, om Uwer oordelen wil.
13Gaat rondom Sion, en omringt haar; telt haar torens;
14Zet uw hart op haar vesting; beschouwt onderscheidenlijk haar paleizen, opdat gij het aan het navolgende geslacht vertelt. [ (Psalms 48:15) Want deze God is onze God eeuwiglijk en altoos; Hij zal ons geleiden tot den dood toe. ]

1Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
2Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
4For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
5They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.
6Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
7Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.
9We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
10According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
12Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
13Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
