3Maar het volk zeide: Gij zult niet uittrekken; want of wij te enen male vloden, zij zullen het hart op ons niet stellen; ja, of de helft van ons stierf, zij zullen het hart op ons niet stellen; maar gij zijt nu als tien duizend onzer. Zo zal het nu beter zijn, dat gij ons uit de stad ter hulpe zijt.
